A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident caused the partial closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later released.

Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people injured by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
